It's Been A Great Year!

By Karen Madden, VP of Refined Fuels

I'd love to say thanks to all our customers for a wonderful year in 2006. At DTN, we're proud to serve the downstream supply chain. Our executive team is behind the refined fuels product line 100%, and our goal is to streamline business processes for all our customers.  Our whole team is excited about helping our customers achieve better business results using our full range of integrated supply chain data solutions.

Let’s look at some highlights from 2006:

The User's Summit was a huge success.  Customer attendance at this event tripled versus 2005.  The customer advisory boards generated great product requests.  These ideas have been integrated into the appropriate product roadmaps.

The renewable fuels momentum had provided some great new opportunities for DTN.  Our strength in both the energy and agricultural industries has allowed us to deliver some unique solutions to this growing segment.

In today’s volatile environment, many suppliers are looking for ways to more accurately gauge real-time rack demand and control rack liftings.  In 2006, many suppliers began leveraging DTN's value-added network to provide customer communications of pricing and allocations via alerts and branded portals.

Supply teams and terminal operators use DTN to manage their terminal operations remotely. Thanks to customer feedback, we believe our terminal automation system is the most responsive solution on the market. Robust user-defined reporting capabilities speed reconciliation and reporting of book-to-physical volume. Unparalleled support and sophisticated maintenance packages help increase throughput and reduce downtime.  We responded to ULSD and rolled out several new enhancements in the G3 based on user feedback at the 2005 User Summit.  We are just finalizing some new support options that will help provide proactive communication and alerts around database performance.  These will be available in early 2007.

Wholesalers and retailers have told us it is becoming more and more difficult to make their fuel buying and reselling decisions.  Earlier this year we rolled out a new tool to help users make smarter fuel buying decisions.  This tool brings supplier pricing, advanced rack and spot prices, NYMEX market feeds and supply-impacting market news update together in real-time to give fuel buyers everything they need - all on one screen - without lengthy or tedious setup.   Our fall release added the ability to consider transportation costs as well as contracts and blends.

Expect to see many more customer-driven product enhancements from us in 2007. We'd love to listen to your needs during the 2007 Summit, which will be held August 12 - 14 in Omaha.

All of us at DTN wish you and yours Happy Holidays. Here's to success in 2007!

Sincerely,
Karen Madden
