DTN Mobile Support
DTN Mobile FAQ's
1. What type of cell phone and carrier service plan do I need to use DTN Mobile? To use DTN Mobile, you must have a WAP 2.0 compatible cell phone or mobile device, a carrier service plan that provides access to the mobile web, and be in a digital coverage area. Most phones sold in the last couple of years are WAP 2.0 compatible, but you must check with your carrier to be sure. WAP 2.0 phones support XHTML formatted pages which offer a much richer display format than the older WML format. Some older phones are not WAP 2.0 compatible, but do support XHTML. DTN Mobile should work on these phones, but you may find that some pages do not display optimally. DTN maintains a list of cell phones that we expect to be compatible with DTN Mobile. Note that cell phone models change frequently and functionality varies by carrier. The information provided is a useful guide, but DTN can not guarantee its accuracy. 2. Does animated radar and quote auto-refresh work on all phones? Animated radar and quote auto-refresh is not supported on all phones. If your phone does not support animated radar, you will still see static radar images. If quote auto-refresh works on your phone, your watch list page will load updated quotes after a set time. If you phone does not support page auto-refresh, you must manually refresh the page to get an updated quote. Go to the DTN Mobile test site, described below, to check if you phone supports these features. 3. Is there a test site where I can check if DTN Mobile will work on my phone? If you already have a phone that can access the mobile web, go to the DTN Mobile Test Site and follow the steps to verify that your phone is compatible with DTN Mobile. 4. How do I start my mobile web browser? I can't find the mobile Web browser on my phone? Since phone interfaces vary widely, please reference your phone's user manual or contact your carrier to find out how to find and start your mobile web browser. 5. What carrier service plans provide access to DTN Mobile and what is the coverage area? You can access DTN Mobile with any carrier that has a service plan that provides access to the mobile web. DTN Mobile is available in any area your carrier has digital service coverage. DTN has compiled the following list of popular service plans and carrier coverage map links.
