Katie Dehlinger

DTN Farm Business Editor Katie Dehlinger leads our live virtual summit series. An Illinois native, she regularly reports on tax and estate planning, farmland values, and other issues that impace an operation’s bottom line. Before joining DTN, Dehlinger was an executive producer at RFD-TV. Katie Dehlinger graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism in news/editorial writing and minors in history and sociology.
John Baranick
DTN Ag Meteorologist
John Baranick has been a meteorologist with DTN since 2011. John uses his forecasts to comment on the impacts weather has on different industries while helping customers make important business decisions. His commentary has been received by clients in the aviation, transportation, energy, and agriculture industries worldwide.
John graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology and a minor in agronomy.
Rhett Montgomery
DTN Lead Analyst
Growing up on a western Nebraska farm observing his father’s common-sense approach to markets, Rhett Montgomery worked as a grain merchandiser before a stint with a Nebraska grain brokerage firm.
Rhett’s approach to commodity markets combines staying mindful of seasonal price tendencies, paying attention to non-commercial positions in the market, and the use of forward contracts and other pricing tools to limit risk.
Rhett holds a B.A in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Greg Horstmeier
DTN Editor-in-Chief
Greg Horstmeier joined DTN in 2007 as production editor before advancing to editor-in-chief in 2010. Today Greg oversees the staff who produce news, weather, and markets content for DTN digital and Progressive Farmer print platforms.
Previously he served as Director of the “Extension and Agriculture Information News“ office at the University of Missouri, the technology editor for Farm Journal, and the crops editor of The Pennsylvania Farmer. Horstmeier graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an agriculture journalism degree with an emphasis in agriculture economics and photo journalism.
