DTN and Esri Strengthen Partnership With Expanded Services

DTN and Esri are working together to ensure industry-leading, highly accurate weather solutions are available through GIS solutions.

DTN, the leading provider for actionable weather insights, today announces its expanded partnership with Esri, the world leader in location intelligence. This growing partnership builds on the success of a three-year relationship and now offers even more comprehensive, highly accurate weather data to Esri customers.

Through this collaboration, both DTN and Esri customers will have access to a complete GIS offering through Esri Map Services served from DTN’s ArcGIS Server infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services. These data services are simple to plug-and-play into existing systems, making it easy for users to take advantage of the largest selection of precision weather layers on the market today.

“The evolution of our partnership with DTN brings comprehensive, accurate weather solutions together with our GIS solutions, giving our customers precise analytics that are easy to use and scale,” said Ryan Lanclos, Esri director of public safety solutions. “This partnership will enable companies to better prepare, plan and respond to both new and existing challenges where real-time data and weather insights are critical to the safety of their people and assets.”

Both DTN and Esri customers will have access to a full suite of solutions, including extending existing maps and applications built by Esri users across many industries, enabling them to build new applications for spatial analysis. For example, traders in weather-sensitive commodities can glean more insights, utilities can forecast load, and agriculture producers can better predict how weather will impact their operations.

“We are proud to partner with Esri to offer a truly complete and comprehensive platform from both our organizations that help users be even more competitive and successful, whatever their industry,” said Michael Eilts, DTN senior vice president-weather. “We have invested three years into building our weather solutions into the Esri platform and now are proud to say this is really the best weather solution within the best GIS platform.”
